Statement On Unanimous Supreme Court Ruling In Favor of the Trump Administration

Washington, D.C. – The Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) released the following statement responding to today’s ruling from the United States Supreme Court regarding President Trump’s travel restriction policy:

“Today’s ruling is a welcome development allowing the Trump Administration to move forward with its plans to keep America safe,” said RAGA Executive Director Scott Will. “The attorneys general’s efforts on this case once again highlight the critical role they play in so many issues facing the country today.”

On June 6th, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, along with 14 other attorneys general and the governor of Mississippi, filed an amicus brief in support of the of the Administration’s position:

“The executive order is a tailored response to a very real threat to our national security,” Attorney General Paxton said. “A temporary pause on entry from countries with heightened security concerns is necessary to shore up our nation’s vetting procedures. The president is fulfilling his solemn duty to protect Texans and all Americans.”

Texas was joined in the amicus brief by Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, Montana, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant.
